Vandalism at Southland

I logged in this morning and walked into the Great Hall at BJ's Southland and found my artfully arranged display of Easter Eggs (physics turned on) had been scattered all over the place. Obviously it was the frustrated rage of yet another snowfake incensed that I had the nerve to decorate my club as a tribute to my ancestors who had attempted to throw off the yoke of tyranny and oppression and create their own free republic where individual rights were not subjected the the whims of an overbearing federal authority.

Surveying the damage

They can whine, they can complain, they can protest all they want, they can even say the war was about ending slavery (really? go read what Lincoln said about that) but they cannot change the historical fact that the Confederate States were exercising their moral and legal right to leave a union where the original compact was being broken, and founded their own free independent nation.

They considered themselves the true heirs of George Washington's vision, and featured him on their Great Seal.

Abraham Lincoln forced a confrontation that resulted in 600,000 dead Americans and Confederates, and for what? By starting a war to force the departed states back into the Union, he destroyed once and for all that vision the founding fathers had fought their own war of freedom for.

His Gettysburg Address made a mockery of the deaths of every American that served his inglorious cause.

Everyone knows of Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, made to revive interest in a war most Americans just wished was over, but not many people are aware of another proclamation, an offer he made to the Confederate States just one month before.

He told the departed states, give up your fight, return to the Union and we will propose a constitutional amendment guaranteeing slavery for another 35 years, with gradual emancipation, and compensation to slave owners. But by this time it was no longer "just about slavery" and the free independent Confederate States of America refused.

What I find fascinating, in the late stage of the war of the President Davis sent an emisary to
Britain and France asking if they would recognize the Confederacy if they abolished slavery.

He was told that offer was a couple of years too late, and so the war wound on to its inevitable conclusion.

However the Confederates fought valiantly to the end, with honor and dignity. Their efforts and sacrifices should never be forgotten.

George Washington fought a war of rebellion and won, he is a revered hero of the nation. Jefferson Davis fought a war of rebellion and lost, today he is scorned and despised, even by the descendents of those that answered his nations call.

The federal government of today is a bloated, overgrown, out of control monster sucking the lifes blood out of our people while trashing what's left of the Bill of Rights. Soon enough, we will all be slaves, just like the ones Lincoln supposedly started a war to free.

I'll leave you with one last thought, it's not the Stars and Bars that these leftist losers want banished from the United States of America, it's really the Stars and Stripes.

Deo Vindice

To be continued....
