It turned out that the way I was doing it at first, building giant columns and setting them for sale at outrageous prices was considered ad farming, a serious violation of the rules.
Funny thing was I didn't even know mainland had any rules.
Silly me. As soon as I read about how my signs were in violation in the forums, I fixed them before a Linden could show up to investigate.
All my signs are now completely conforming to the rules.
I've had a few comments, both for and against. One person even gave me a parcel to put my sign on.

The other day I was finishing putting up a sign when a deuce coupe with two bikers inside drove up and stopped. One of them said "nice tits", so of course I replied "nice car".
Since they were bikers i figured they would be Trump supporters.
They asked what I was doing way out there alone, and I pointed to the sign.
They said cool. I then offered the opinion that if the dems win in 2020, America is doomed. They agreed.
I waved, said see ya around, and tped home
