This is a blog post I made, reprinted here *smiles*
I was looking for a 1024 to rezz my henge on. As usual I wanted roadfront, so I started looking.
I found one, a perfect square, but it was $4000L, a bit steep even for roadfront.
I then found one for $1995L, rectangular, it seemed a fair price, so I bought it. The seller also had an 80 sqm parcel at the corner of my parcel, along the road, but not for sale. It didn’t really block my view, so I wasnt worried about it. The next day, I came back and it was set for sale for $1995 L, same as the 1024 i just bought. I guess he figured I’d pay to save my view.
Silly flipper, i rezzed a couple of trees to block my view of his parcel, but just to make it clear I wasn’t interested in buying his micro parcel, rezzed my ad board on the corner of my parcel right beside his. I can’t really even see my board, the trees are so thick.
Well he defo got the message, because the next day when i came by, he had cut the 80 sqm into three parcels, two 2x protected 16 sqm parcels he listed for $795 L each, and the interior 48 sqm parcel not for sale.
I could have ARed him for illegal land cutting, but I never AR anything that doesn’t directly affect me.
I expect both those 16’s will sell fast, and there will be two brand new networked ads, or ad farms. I feel bad for the person on the other side of that micro parcel though. They have a cool house on 512. I won’t be surprised if they abandon it.
Moral of the story, you can always deal with price gouging land flippers, you just gotta be creative.
